THE BUFFERS is a modern rock/funk 5-piece based in the Boston area. Combining influences from alternative rock, blues, and slap-happy funk, we like playing anything that’s fun to play. We met in college in Maine, and formed the original roster of The Buffers in 2015 after a sweaty session in the former Jamspot Somerville (RIP) rehearsal space.

the namesake has odd origins…one of our previous bassists (Buffer) moved to southeast Asia and forgot to tell us, and the name stuck with us. But don’t worry, everything’s cool, we’re still friends. Sometimes. if you’re lucky, you can catch him playing keys with us at a gig.

we’re psyched with our current lineup, with varying points of view and musical chops that create an eclectically-mixed Long Island Iced Tea full of classic & modern sounds, mixed with a dash of swooning vocal harmonies. We’ll have you singing and jumping around like no one’s watching.
